Most popular designs of March 2026

OK. So last month I talked about the most popular designs of February. I liked the post so much, decided to do it again this month (and let’s see if I can continue it).

This past month, there was some movement in the rankings, and, again, some that surprised me.

SID month – again
My designs that revolved around Commodore-related boards (Denise, an Amiga close, and USBSID-Pico), SID chips (the Commodore version, logo, and even the SID chip Pinout), and the 6502 (the MOS version) are still designs that were top in traffic and attention.

Maybe I need to make more designs in this space. Suggestions welcome.

The usual suspects, and then some
The Raspberry Pi5 (my best seller) and the ESP32 are always in the top list, and sometimes the RP2040. A design of one of the old chips, that is not from Commodore, that shows up every so often in the top designs, is the AD570, an early ADC.

What surprised me was that a text-only latin quote was on the list. Again.

Last month was the unexpected ‘Aut viam inveniam, aut faciam.’ A motto of mine.

This month, it was ‘Facio, ergo sum,’ a maker twist (‘I make, therefore I am’) to Descartes’ famous ‘I think, therefore I am.’

What’s with the Latin phrases? 🤔

Another top shirt is a silly one I did on the generations.

Rounding out
Three other shirts that showed up on the top list for March were one with symbols of components in pairs (similar components, but different functions) – a variation of my ‘Vive la différence’ design, celebrating diversity in components; one around Circuitpython (not sure why more of these don’t show up at top); and one with diagram of an early vacuum tube.

Views vs Favorites
I build this list by looking at sales, views, and which are favorited. Without a doubt, the hand-drawn designs dominate the sales. Which makes sense, as those are unique to my store.

Interestingly, and I need to see how this goes month to month, there seems to be a split when it comes to views and favorites: The modern dev boards and chips seem to get traffic. While the designs related to historical chips or retrocomputing get favorited.

Is this because nostalgia makes folks say ‘Yeah, that’s cool. Aww, makes me feel good. Fave!’?

Dunno. Something to keep an eye on

And so we have it
I am inspired to make these designs for so many reasons. But in the end, I want folks to like them and bring them into their lives. Therefore, following the signals I can to understand which designs resonate, keeps me motivated and churning out more.

Are there any designs that you’ve liked?
